    The right strategy is crucial to the success of you and clients your search engine optimization activities
It is important that you do the right things in the right order, and include the correct techniques, if you want to achieve the best possible high search engine rankings. Sadly, it is not enough to submit your web site to search engines and to wait for the results.... true the search engines will arrive eventually, but what will they find? Will they understand what they've found? and more important, will they return..... and how often!

Successful search engine optimization takes some time but the results are worth the effort.

    The key to gaining the best possible search engine rankings is to do the 'right things' in the 'right order':
 you're a web designer, try to plan a few things into the initial stages as early as possible. In the long term this will save time, money and help you achieve the most optimized results for your client(s).

1. Find the right keywords for your web site.
"What before I begin building?" I hear you say. Yes. Talking to your client as early on as possible in the development stages about keywords is a crucial part of our strategy. It lets you focus on the aims they have, allows you to create images using keyword names i.e.. "Motorola_C550.gif" instead of "image10.gif" and add the correct 'alt tags' to your design as you develop it.

2. Optimize your web pages for these keywords so that they can get high search engine rankings.
Correct use of 'H1', 'alt tags', internal linking etc... via the use of keywords, all produce good optimization results.

3. Don't be tempted to submit your web pages to search engines and directories so that web surfers can find you.
Odd statement to make? Not really, over submission can cause rejection by the search engines, which is why First www computer has a strict procedure that we follow. Additionally, search engines love finding things for themselves, and for some strange reason best known by the, appear to give better results to web sites that 'they' find rather than ones they are told about.

4. Get links from other web sites and make sure that these links contain your keywords.
It's that word ain isn't it... 'Keyword'. Some say they are not important, my advice - they are! and by know you will beginning to see why they are and how they can be very useful to us. In #3 I advised that when the search engines find tour site naturally, they rank it better. Creating a well planned and focused back links strategy will do this for you. 

5. Track the results.
Obviously we've only touched on some of the things required to obtain a well optimized web site here.
